Violence pre-planned

Tuni: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said that what had happened at Tuni was a clash between social and political interests. While the political parties like the YSRCP which have a long history of criminal attitude and background have political interest in creating such unfortunate incidents while the government has social responsibility.

“We have a social responsibility to provide reservations to the Kapus. I can convene a meeting of the Cabinet on Monday and issue GO but it will be struck down by the courts. Will the political parties agree for such a situation? The government is not prepared for that,” he said.

He said some political parties which are in frustration since the government was going ahead with development, they are resorting to create differences between various communities. “We will fight it out. I will not allow such rowdyism to prevail in the state and get a bad name,” he said.

Strongly condemning the violence at Tuni, Naidu said the incident was part of the ‘Opposition parties’ conspiracy to obstruct the development of the new state.

At a press conference after holding emergency meeting in Vijayawada, he said the incident was ‘pre-planned’ by the Opposition YSR Congress and Congress to destabilise the state which was facing many hurdles after the bifurcation.

The political opponents resorted to creating enmity between the casts and communities. After Amaravathi and Pattiseema, the demand for BC status to Kapus has become a major issue for the Opposition to destabilise the government and bring bad name to the state.
