Kirlampudi(East Godavari): Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Wednesday said that he was firm on his decision to go on hunger strike along with his wife from Friday morning unless the government issues two GOs stating that the Kapus were included in the BC list and another stating that it was releasing Rs 1900 crore to the Kapu welfare coroporation.

Stating that efforts were being made to implicate him in various cases and arrest him, he said he would go ahead with the fast even if he was sent to jail and that he would not seek bail. Addressing the media in Kirlampudi on Wednesday, Padmanabham called upon the Kapus not to join the fast at his residence and told them to stage protests at their homes by making sounds with utensils and asked them to skip lunch.

He alleged that the anti-social elements were sent to the Kapu Ikya Garjana by the government to frighten the people. Some of them even tried to barge into the guest house near the meeting place on Sunday where his wife was there at that time. He alleged that efforts were made to set the stage on fire. He mentioned that culprits sent by the TDP leaders carried petrol in polythene bags during Ikya Garjana.

Meanwhile, DGP J V Ramudu spent the whole day in Tuni on Wednesday examining the video clippings of the public meeting and the violent incidents like setting fire to Ratnachal Express by mob, attack on police stations, subsequent arson and assault on police.

Later, he called upon the police personnel who were injured in the incidents and spoke to them and ascertained the facts. He said that he would brief the Chief Minister and make sure that they get compensation.
