Tirupati: Centre is keen on developing Andhra Pradesh which has great potential, as a major tourism destination, said Union Ministry of Tourism secretary Vinod Zutshi. Zutshi who was here on an official visit to explore the possibilities of developing Tirupati and Tirumala as an international tourist hub and also to expedite the construction of Indian Institute of Culinary (IIC), which is coming up in Renigunta mandal.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday he said that the Centre has drawn a massive plan to create more destinations in the State to tap its huge tourism potential. “As part of its initiative to develop Tirupati and Tirumala as a world destination, the Centre has proposed a slew of facilities including golf course, convention and exhibition centre and creation of spiritual destination including a yoga centre,” he said.

The district collector, tourism department will be involved in the creation of additional facilities including acquiring of suitable land for developing the facilities. The golf course, convention centre, etc.
