Collector slams officials of priority sectors
District Collector K Bhaskar expressed his dissatisfaction over horticulture officials for not spending 80 per cent of the allotted budget to the department. Addressing a review meeting on priority sectors here on Wednesday, he took officials of the horticulture department to task.
Eluru: District Collector K Bhaskar expressed his dissatisfaction over horticulture officials for not spending 80 per cent of the allotted budget to the department. Addressing a review meeting on priority sectors here on Wednesday, he took officials of the horticulture department to task.
He chided the officials by stating that they performed better when a lone deputy director was heading the department. He directed the officials to submit the details of beneficiaries and equipment supplied to them, with photo proofs.
The Collector lambasted agriculture officials for not paying bills of the beneficiaries. He also expressed his anger over the fisheries department for not spending the released funds for aqua development in the district. He directed the officials to take steps to spend the funds sanctioned to achieve higher productivity in aquaculture.
Additional Joint Collector A H Sheriff, Assistant Directors of horticulture Vijaya Lakshmi and Durgesh, in-charge CPO T Suresh Kumar, Joint Director of agriculture Sai Lakshmeswari, Deputy Director of fisheries Lal John were present.
