Interestingly, rumours have being going around for over six months that Jaleel Khan was willing to shift loyalties to the ruling party. Every time he had denied it. But several of the YSRCP leaders admitted that the legislator had tried to switch over to the TDP.

On Thursday, when he was scheduled to participate in a meeting of the Muslim intellectuals here, the legislator had gone to the Chief Minister along with Minister Devineni raising doubts over his move to join the TDP. However, he reached the Muslims meeting two hours behind the schedule. S

peaking to The Hans India, Jaleel Khan denied he joining TDP and said his meeting with the Chief Minister was official and had nothing to do with politics. He said he had met the Chief Minister to seek funds for the developmental works in his Vijayawada West Assembly constituency, construction of Haj House in the city.

“The Krishna District Collector and the Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner were present when I met the Chief Minister,” Jaleel Khan said. He further said that he had met the Chief Minister four times earlier to seek funds for his constituency development and regretted that the media was spreading false news about him.

“I am an elected member and I have the responsibility to get funds for the development of my constituency. I have to address the problems of the people in my constituency for which I need to meet the Ministers and Chief Minister,” Jaleel Khan said.
