Tulasi seeds gesture to poor students

Tulasi Seeds chairman Tulasi Ramachandra Prabhu on Sunday presented a cheque for Rs 2.90 lakh to the Kavali-based Balija and Kapu Welfare Association president Thota Venkata Seshaiah towards scholarships for the meritorious but poor students.

He said that the Krishnadevaraya Trust, which he founded, mobilized contributions towards scholarships. A matching amount would be added to the amount mobilised and distributed among the poor and backward classes students towards scholarships.

He said the measure would encourage service attitude among others and helps students score more marks. The amount would be distributed among 210 eligible and poor students at a program to be held in Kavali.
