Among the grievances represented to DIG was one made by Madhavi, a widow of Kannamadakala village in Orvakal mandal. She alleged that her drunk father-in-law was sexually harassing her and accusing her of having illegal intimacy.

Those present at the police ‘darbar’ included legal adviser Chandrasekhar Rao, DSPs G Veeraraghava Reddy, Muralidhar Reddy, Vinod Kumar and several CIs.

Meanwhile, several issues of interest to home guards in Rayalaseema districts like salary, insurance policy, uniform kit articles, besides some administrative matters, were discussed at a meeting in DPO. Home Guards Commandant Chandramouli presided. The home guards in-charge officials attended.

The officials represented to the commandant to solve the problems facing home guards, besides improving their welfare. They wanted RSIs to be appointed as in-charge officers. They urged the DIG to take up the issue of sanctioning houses for home guards with the district Collectors.

Among those who attended the meeting were Home guards DSPs Krishnamohan (Kurnool), B Ramanayya (Chittoor), RIs Satyagopal (Kadapa), Srinivasulu (Tirupati Urban), RSIs Mohan Reddy (Kurnool), Ravikumar (Anantapur), besides the ministerial and police personnel.
