Jagan trying to create hurdles for irrigation projects, alleges Uma
Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao alleged that YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been trying to create hurdles for ongoing irrigation projects. He alleged that the Opposition Leader was instigating people to file petitions against Polavaram project.

Vijayawada: Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao alleged that YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been trying to create hurdles for ongoing irrigation projects. He alleged that the Opposition Leader was instigating people to file petitions against Polavaram project.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the TDP government has been giving top priority to irrigation sector and spent nearly Rs 11,000 crore towards irrigation during the last 20 months. He said the government completed the Pattiseema project in a record time and protected the crops in Godavari and Krishna districts.
He said a target was set to divert 80 tmcft of water from Godavari through Polavaram right main canal by completing the works by June. He said Jaganmohan Reddy has been provoking the people of Godavari districts through false propaganda on diversion of Godavari water to Krishna.
The Minister said that the TDP government is determined to complete the Polavaram project by 2018 and no one can stop it. The Minister said that the government is now concentrating on supply of water to Rayalaseema region and giving priority for Handri Neeva and Galeru Nagari projects.
He said that the irrigation projects in Rayalaseema region would be completed like Pattiseema project to supply water to Rayalaseema region. He said that the people of Rayalaseema region were extending support to TDP government for speedy completion of irrigation projects.
Devineni Umamaheswara Rao flayed the Opposition Leader for making baseless allegations against the government and not extending cooperation for speedy completion of irrigation projects.
