Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy pulled a surprise on Wednesday by announcing that he would bring down the State government soon after a large number of TDP MLAs, who were in touch with YSRCP, joined the party.

Talking to the media after submitting a memorandum to the Governor seeking his intervention in constituting Tribal Advisory Committees, Jagan said that the government would not last its full term. He said, “I will let you know about the number of TDP MLAs who are ready to sail with us soon and within a few hours after that, we will overthrow the State government.”

Jagan made this comment when scribes wanted to know whether it was true that 21 TDP MLAs were in touch with him. Coming down heavily on the Chief Minister, Jagan challenged Naidu if he was ready to seek the mandate again.

He said the TDP government’s anti-people policies would go against him. He said his party will go ahead with no-confidence motion against the Speaker for the way in which he was conducting the Assembly proceedings.

The Leader of Opposition said Naidu had miserably failed to keep his flock together in Telangana. To cover up his shortcoming, Jagan said he has been using his friendly media spreading rumours against YSRCP leaders that they were willing to join TDP.

He said, "The yellow party has been resorting to this propaganda for some time. But, till now no MLA from our party has gone to the TDP. In fact, TDP is a sinking boat as all sections of people in the State are fed up with Naidu's anti-people regime.

How can he think that someone from my party will join the sinking TDP?" He said the YSRCP has 67 MLAs and his flock was intact. Jagan complained to the Governor that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was “deliberately” delaying the process of constituting Tribal Advisory committees since 6 out of 7 tribal assembly seats were represented by YSRCP MLAs and urged him to take up the issue with the state government.
