Stop Palamuru project; Governor urged

Hyderabad: YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday requested Governor E S L Narasimhan to stop the Palamuru- Rangareddy lift irrigation project, which he said was detrimental to the interests of backward Rayalaseema region, Prakasam and Nellore districts of AP.
The project would also destablise irrigated area under Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar and Prakasam barrages. His party already brought the issue to the notice of Union Ministry of Water Resources last year but no tangible action was taken so far.
