3 more accused sent to judicial custody
Three more accused in AgriGold deposits scam were sent to 14-day judicial custody by in-charge district Principal Sessions Judge A Hariharanatha Sarma here on Thursday. The CID team led by Inspector Sharath Kumar arrested AgriGold Managing Director (Construction) Kamireddy Sri Ramachandra Rao, Vice-President Immidi Sadasiva Vara Prasad and Director Pathan Lal Ahmad Khan in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Eluru: Three more accused in AgriGold deposits scam were sent to 14-day judicial custody by in-charge district Principal Sessions Judge A Hariharanatha Sarma here on Thursday. The CID team led by Inspector Sharath Kumar arrested AgriGold Managing Director (Construction) Kamireddy Sri Ramachandra Rao, Vice-President Immidi Sadasiva Vara Prasad and Director Pathan Lal Ahmad Khan in Vijayawada on Wednesday late night.
The CID team shifted the accused to Eluru Government Hospital for medical checkup at 7 a.m. on Thursday. The doctors conducted medical examinations on the accused and declared them as medically fit. Later, the CID officials produced the three accused before in-charge district Principal Sessions Judge A Hariharanatha Sarma. After hearing the case, the Judge remanded the three accused to judicial custody till March 3. The accused were shifted to district jail under high security.
Meanwhile, BV Krishna Reddy, a senior lawyer, filed bail petitions in the District Sessions Court for the accused. Krishna Reddy had earlier appeared on behalf of chairman Avva Venkata Rama Rao and MD Avva Venkata Seshu Narayana. The CID officials also filed a petition seeking CID custody of the accused.
