The State government has requested Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for deployment of a battalion of the Border Security Force in Vizag agency to tackle the increasing Maoist activities. The request was made by DGP JV Ramudu to the Union Home Minister, who held a high-level security meeting with the AP Police, BSF, CRPF and other forces on here Thursday. 

Visakhapatnam: The State government has requested Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for deployment of a battalion of the Border Security Force in Vizag agency to tackle the increasing Maoist activities. The request was made by DGP JV Ramudu to the Union Home Minister, who held a high-level security meeting with the AP Police, BSF, CRPF and other forces on here Thursday.

The minister said his ministry would consider the request of the AP Police to flush out the Maoists in the Agency as well as Andhra-Odisha Border. Union Home Ministry security advisor K Vijay Kumar, later briefing the media, said the meeting has opined that the Maoist activities were showing a downward trend in both Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and all over India.
