Rosaiah inaugurates accommodation facility for pilgrims
The newly renovated building of Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Anna Satram, a charitable trust located on the Sivalayam Street, One Town, was formally inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Governor Konijeti Rosaiah here on Sunday.

Costing Rs 4 crore, the newly renovated building, with 48 rooms out of which 36 are air conditioned and the rest 12 are non-air-conditioned, has been built with the aim of offering affordable accommodation to pilgrims visiting the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, atop Indrakeeladri Hill from various parts of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Rosaiah said that Kanyaka Parameswari Anna Satram was a pioneer in feeding the pilgrims irrespective of their caste and creed for the five decades visiting the city from various destinations.
He said that Vijayawada has gained prominence after being designated as part of the capital city. There was much need to develop and renovate the dormitories as it would help big teams of pilgrims stay with all comforts during the Krishna Pushkarams in the city.
He lauded the initiative of the anna satram committee for renovating the building with all facilities providing better accommodation for the pilgrims near Indrakeeladri Hill.
Local MP Kesineni Srinivas Nani, Former MLA and BJP leader Vellampalli Srinivas Rao, Arya Vysya Maha Sabha city president Konakalla Vidyadhar Rao, World Arya Vysya Mahasabha (WAM) president Tanguturi Ramakrishna, Kanyaka Parameswari Anna Satram president B Hareswara Rao, vice president V Prasad, secretaries M Venkata Subba Rao, D Shankar Rao, K Yagna Narayana, treasurer C Hari Naryana and other committee members were also present on the occasion.
