In coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, the day temperatures on Monday were on the higher side, with Anantapur recording 39 degrees Celsius.

Hyderabad: In coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, the day temperatures on Monday were on the higher side, with Anantapur recording 39 degrees Celsius. Nandigama, Jangamaheswarapuram, Kurnool and Nandyal recorded 38 degrees Celsius each. The other maximum temperatures were: Tuni, Kadapa, Tirupati 37 each, Nellore 36, Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam Airport, Arogyavaram 35 each, Ongole 34, Bapatla, Kakinada, Kalingapatnam, Kavali, Narsapur 33 and Visakhapatnam 31.

The minimum temperatures in coastal AP and Rayalaseema rose appreciably at one or two places. They were appreciably above normal at one or two places in the coastal districts and Seema. The lowest night temperature of 19 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nandigama and Arogyavaram.

The other recordings in the State were: Jangamaheswarapuram, Anantapur, Nandyal 20 each, Bapatla 21, Kadapa 22, Machilipatnam, Narsapur, Vijayawada 23 each, Kakinada, Kalingapatnam, Kavali, Nellore, Ongole, Tuni, Visakhapatnam, Visakhapatnam Airport, Kurnool and Tirupati 24 each.

Day temperatures rose steeply in Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday, with Adilabad, Hanamkonda, Nizamabad and Ramagundam recording the day’s highest of 39 degrees Celsius. While Bhadrachalam, Hyderabad, Medak and Nalgonda had 38 degrees Celsius, Hakimpet and Khammam were cooler by a degree.
