The State government is all set to construct 71 Social Welfare Residential School buildings with an estimated cost of around Rs 259 crore.  According to social welfare department officials, the government’s decision comes following the assessment that number of students have been increasing but have no adequate space. 

Hyderabad: The State government is all set to construct 71 Social Welfare Residential School buildings with an estimated cost of around Rs 259 crore. According to social welfare department officials, the government’s decision comes following the assessment that number of students have been increasing but have no adequate space.

“And space is available in plenty in case of 71 schools where additional buildings could be constructed for students of Class VI onwards. Tenders have already been awarded and the works are in full swing. The works are expected to be completed by the end of the current financial year.”

Once these classrooms have been constructed then the students numbering around 17,000 would be shifted in phased manner, the sources pointed out.
