Permanent headquarters will be constructed at Mangalagiri and until then the APIIC will run its activities from Vijayawada. The officials feel that having headquarters at Mangalagiri has a strategic advantage as it is equi-distant from Vijayawada as well as Amaravati.

Permanent headquarters will be constructed at Mangalagiri and until then the APIIC will run its activities from Vijayawada. The officials feel that having headquarters at Mangalagiri has a strategic advantage as it is equi-distant from Vijayawada as well as Amaravati.

Meanwhile, the existing building at Autonagar in Vijayawada would be demolished and a commercial complex will be constructed in the same place. The APIIC officials decided to set up an industrial park for small and medium industries at Nandigama. It has initiated steps to acquire 1,100 acres. Similarly, the APIIC has taken steps to set up a Pharmaceutical Park near Achutapuram.

The land acquisition process to acquire 4,000 acres has started. The officials informed that pharmaceutical companies in Telangana are showing interest to set up units in the State. Apart from this the APIIC is setting up another industrial park near Veerapanenipalem. In a bid to create land bank, APIIC has identified one-lakh acres of government land in Prakasam.

While the plans are afoot to set up a mega industrial park in Donakonda in Prakasam district, steps have been initiated to acquire 20,000 acres of government land. Speaking to The Hans India, APIIC chairman P Krishnaiah said that they are taking necessary steps to develop industrial and pharmaceutical parks.

“The CRDA will provide necessary infrastructure to set up industries near State capital Amaravati. We will run our activities from Vijayawada until a permanent building is constructed at Mangalagiri, which we will take up soon,” he added.
