The Economic Survey 2015-16 in its report praised the efforts of Krishna district administration in bringing misuse of subsidy in rice distribution to two per cent against national average of 15 percent.

The district administration led by District Collector Babu A introduced the Aadhaar linked Public Distribution System by arranging an electronic device at fair price shops and distributing rice with Aadhaar identification and biometric system.

The district administration is able to avert misuse of Rs 57.16 crore in public distribution system by using e-POS system in the past nine months. The officials are able to prevent misuse of 13,626 metric tonnes of rice, 838 metric tonnes of sugar and 279 metric tonnes of wheat.
