Jana Vignana Vedika’s district president, T Srikumar said that many social problems like diseases, food security and shortage in energy and drinking water should be solved through scientific research and development in the country.

He addressed a seminar conducted on ‘Challenges faced by science and finding truth’ by Jana Vignana Vedika at M B Vignana Kendram on Sunday to mark the National Science Day.

Addressing the gathering Sri Kumar, Physics assistant professor at Andhra Loyola College, said that crores of children in India are dying due to unknown diseases. He also mentioned the Governments recent announcement about mysterious diseases killing many children before the age of five in the country.

He said that modern science should be integrated while dealing with social problems like diseases, energy shortage, food security and more research should be done on these issues. He said the state and central government should give top priority for research and development in order to eradicate all these problems.

India is facing many problems like gender inequality, unemployment, economic inequality and such problems must be addressed through scientific development, he concluded. JVV Krishna district secretary K Srinivas, city president V Siva Prasad, city secretary K Muralidharan, students, teachers and representatives of NGOs attended the seminar.
