Organ donation campaign to conclude in Vijayawada tomorrow
With a motive to educate people on organ donation, Kovvuru Ramesh Reddy (KRR), a businessman who underwent transplantation twice for Kidney and Liver organs has embarked on a ‘Padayatra’.
With a motive to educate people on organ donation, Kovvuru Ramesh Reddy (KRR), a businessman who underwent transplantation twice for Kidney and Liver organs has embarked on a ‘Padayatra’. The Padayatra is being carried out by a trust named after him, KRR Charitable Trust in association with Jeevandaan, Jana Vignana Vedika, Rotary Club and Lions Club.
Elaborating the details of the awareness campaign, JVV City president O Siva Prasad said that the campaign will sensitize students and public about the importance of organ donation which could save lives of a minimum of two people. Meetings were being held throughout the route and the campaign will conclude at Vijayawada on March 11 followed by a valedictory on March 12 at Subhamasthu function hall in Bhavanipuram.
The Padayatra has begun at Tirupathi on February 12, he said. JVV Krishna district general secretary K Srinivas said that the event will be addressed by Ministers Kamineni Srinivas, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and others from the respective institutions that are involved in the awareness programme. Members of JVV and the trust were present.
