With the YSRCP members led by party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy staging a walk out of the AP Assembly as a protest over the unemployment issue in the state, Labour Minister Atchan Naidu came forward to clarify the government's stand.

Stating that the state government has no scheme to pay unemployment allowance, Atchan Naidu said that efforts are being made to provide self-employment opportunities and jobs through skill development programmes. He also said that the government is dedicated to fill the vacancies in all departments but the delay is being caused due to financial constraints. The Labour Minister informed that a sub-committee has been formed which is looking into the regularisation of contractors.

However, the Minister blamed the Opposition YSRCP party for government's inability to create new jobs as the party is putting up agitations at the places where the government was considering to set up industries.
