California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) announced the launch of International Baccalaureate Educator Certificate in Teaching and Learning India in the city.

The CSUSM has come up with the online certificate programme that includes the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP).

Candidates completing this programme will be prepared to teach in any IB school worldwide, with consideration for local government teacher credentialing. The programme is planned to enable candidates to meet the increasing demand for IB teachers worldwide especially in USA.

International Baccalaureate Educator Certificate in Teaching and Learning India is an online, two-semester course that can be completed in six months with a non-credit and credit option. This course will have ten semester units that may transfer to another university.

It provides candidates with an opportunity to develop theoretical knowledge through field study experience which includes lesson plans, materials along with assessments unique to local curriculum requirements and contexts. It’s a cohort model with deep learning and interaction with peers along with continual feedback and online support from faculty.

Speaking at the launch Robert Carolin, MA, Executive Director and Associate Dean Office of Global Programs and Services said, “We are extremely pleased to announce the launch of International Baccalaureate (IB) Educator Certificate in Teaching & Learning in India today.

The programme, has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities. It will help transforming perspectives through experiential learning and enhance critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration.

It is aimed at enhancing the skill sets of people aspiring to be in education sector and helping them in making a mark in the global markets. We are confident that the program will receive a fantastic response from the people here in India”

IB is introduced with an idea to help candidates achieve their strategic aim of increased access globally and to work with schools and enable them to add an international dimension to their vocational offerings.
