Mummineni Subbarao Sidhartha Kala Peetham strives to promote Indian Culture and fine arts by conducting various cultural events every month. With the same intention, ‘Shiva Dhrumam’ a dance feature was organised on Saturday at Sidhartha auditorium.

Shiva Dhrumam, is a classical dance based feature wherein the writer Dantibhotla Venkata Narayana Murthy tried to focus the origin and evolution of Kuchipudi dance. The feature showcased the different aspects of Kuchipudi.

A slide presentation of legends like Vempati Chinna Satyam, Vedantam Raghavaiah, Tadepalli Peraiah sastry, Vedantam Lakshminarayana Sastry, Vedantam Satyanarayana Sarma and many more who contributed much for the promotion of Kuchipudi Dance was also included in the feature.

Surendranath and his troupe efficiently presented this colorful dance feature and it was appreciated by the audience of kala peetham. The music was composed by DSV Sastry and choreographed by surendranath, who also performed as Shiva.

Mounika, Kedarnath, Sambasiva Rao, Durga Rao, Sridevi, Aruna, Kiranmayi, LV Ramana, Parvathi were the main performers. The dance feature was technically supported by Surabhi Kishore and Murali. DVS Sastry and Tejeswni were the singers. On behalf of Kala Peetham the artists were felicitated by Dr Chivukula Sundararama Sarma and Dr Bandaru Manmadha Rao.
