Chinmaya Yuva Kendra in association with Youth for Seva, an NGO has organised a seminar on "How to Overcome Fear of Failure?" for students at Chinmaya Swarna Prabha hall, Suryaraopet here on Sunday. Psychiatrist Srinivas Rao, who was the chief guest for the seminar, said that no individual achieved their goals without any failures or efforts.

There are two sides to failure. One could view failure as just a stumbling block, learn from the mistakes and move forward with viguor to achieve their goal, he opined. Students should choose their path and learn from their failures to achieve success in fastest way, he added.

The psychiatrist also said that it is most unfortunate that our society gives too much importance to marks obtained than the students capability. The teachers are under great pressure to produce high scores, and that pressure can be passed on to students making them anxious. He wanted parents to be alert for the signs of anxiety in their child and develop the habit of getting them to work towards achieving their goals.

Swami Prathameshanandha of Chinmayi Mission said that the main moto of organising the seminar is to imbibe the quality of overcoming the obstacles with determination and confidence among the students. As part of its initiatives the YFS will also commence its activities in the Amarvati capital region. “Our main focus is to empower youth and engage them in seva activities,” he said.
