Delightful Andhra Natyam
The birthday celebrations of Dr Nataraja Ramakrishna who worked for promoting Andhra Natyam was observed by his disciple Sarada Ramakrishna in the capital city on Monday at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Monday evening. The Students of Ramakrishna Nritya Kalakshetram presented delightful dance performances. The ‘Angikabhinayam’ and ‘pada vinyasam’ of the dancers were appreciated by the viewers. V Vedasaranya, K Soumya, M Dakshayani, V Himaja, Ch Bhavyacharita, Ch Bhavana Indu, K Joshita, B Devarshini, J Ashika, K Mridula, A Rutvika and A Lahari were among the participants in the dance programme titled ‘Andha Natya Malika’, which was choreographed by Sarada Ramakrishna.
This dance programme was well supported by Ch Sudha Srinivas with her fabulous voice, Palaparthi Anjaneyulu on Violin and PV Prasad on Mridangam. Somasekhar’s make-up brought brightness to the dancers. On this occasion Nataraja Ramakrishna Award was presented to the senior dancer Srirangam Raghava Kumari. Senior journalist Dr Turlapati Kutumba Rao, Kuchpudi Natyaramam Chairman Kuchibhotla Anand, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Mayor Koneru Sridhar and others were present.
