A 6K marathon run, Run for Jesus, will be organised in the city by the Andhra Pradesh Federation of Churches and Christian Associations on Saturday on the eve of Easter.
A 6K marathon run, Run for Jesus, will be organised in the city by the Andhra Pradesh Federation of Churches and Christian Associations on Saturday on the eve of Easter.
Announcing the marathon, run coordinator Rev S Jay Kumar said “ The run has been organised on the eve of Easter to mark Jesus rising from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion on Good Friday.
Rev Gowada Dyvasirvadam, moderator of CSI Diocese, RCM Bishop Rev T Raja Rai will flag off the run from Bishop Azariah Institutions at 5:30 am followed by sikhamani Centre, chuutugunta, BRTS Road and culminates at Lutheran Church on Sambamurthy Road.
Pastors, community leaders, youth and children will take part in the run to mark the end of a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. Members from over 135 churches and also from outside the Union of Churches will be involved in the event.”
