With boom in luxury car sales, Benz comes to Vijayawada

Looking at the number of luxury cars cursing on the city roads, it is evident that many of the cities elite are looking for and purchasing top end luxury cars. In reflection of this, Mercedes Benz inaugurated its first 3S (sales, service, spares) facility at a Mahavir Motors showroom in Vijayawada on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Roland Folger, managing director and CEO, Mercedes Benz, said, "There has been a good response to luxury cars, which prompted us to come to Vijayawada. The city has emerged as an important market with strong potential for luxury automobile." he added that it was a move to reach out to the customers in the cities like Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Guntur and Ongole.

The increasing customer base for Mercedes Benz in Vijayawada reiterates our confidence in the market, resulting in the creation of a world-class luxury dealership like Mahavir Motors, he said. Folger pointed out that Mercedes Benz witnessed a strong growth of 32 per cent in 2015, selling 13,502 cars in India.

While, southern market grew by 40 per cent in 2015 and contributed 27 per cent to the National sales in 2015, he said. Plans are afoot to launch 12 new products and to inaugurate 10 new outlets driving into new markets with a focus on tier II markets like Vijayawada, he added.

Yashwant Jhabakh, Group Chairman, Mahavir Motors said, “It is a very proud moment for us to inaugurate our second dealership with Mercedes-Benz India and the first 3S luxury car dealership in Vijayawada. Spread over an area of 20,000 square feet, the showroom will be a one stop destination for luxury automobile enthusiasts.

A team of 25 trained personnel will service the customers in the workshop that can facilitate 4 cars at one go. The newly inaugurated showroom can undertake general repairs and maintenance work with availability of Mercedes Benz spares and accessories.”
