Prajavani evokes good response

Kakinada: The weekly grievance redressal programme ‘Prajavani’ conducted at the Collectorate here on Monday, had evoked good response from the public. About 300 persons submitted their petitions to District Collector H Arun Kumar, Joint Collector S Satyanarayana and DRO B Yadagiri.

Most of the complaints are related to issues relating to allotment of house sites, disbursal of pension and PDS cards and land disputes etc. After receiving representations from the public, the Collector referred various civic issues to officials concerned. The Collector directed the officials to solve public grievances at the earliest.

The programme ensured quick and quality response to petitioners due to the participation of District Collector and senior officials. The involvement of middle men and red tapism is also reduced to a large extent as complainants are directly submitting the petitions. Besides this an acknowledgement slip is given to the complainants and officials will regularly monitor the status of petitions.
