Vijayawada: The students of engineering disciplines have been foraying into creating their own opportunities. Entrepreneurship is the new fad among youngsters who are educated but unemployed. Taking an opportunity of it, the students of Potti Sriramulu Chalavadi Mallikharjuna Rao College of Engineering and Technology (PSCMR) have come up with ‘Entrepreneurship Club’ which was inaugurated here on Monday.

The Entrepreneurship Club was formed to discuss, encourage and coordinate students to look out for better opportunities and creating one. After speeches from the administration, the students who are part of it were lectured by some of the city-based entrepreneurs like Siddharth Marupeddi, Charan Lakkaraju and Akshay Gunteti.

They spoke on what is entrepreneurial mindset and how student should conceive an idea and develop it into something that can be worked on. An insight into the practical entrepreneurship and start-ups was also discussed, followed by an interactive session with students.

The programme was presided by principal K Nageswararao, head of the departments, members of the E-cell among others. A live music band from the college led by a student, Ritchie Shelson, performed on the occasion.
