A complex ovarian cancer was treated by a team of specialists at Anu hospitals in the city. A woman of 50 years was operated and a 9 kilo tumor has been removed from her stomach successfully.
A complex ovarian cancer was treated by a team of specialists at Anu hospitals in the city. A woman of 50 years was operated and a 9 kilo tumor has been removed from her stomach successfully. The patient, who showed no symptoms of the tumor in Biopsy tests, was found to be in advanced stage, said Cancer specialist Dr Ch Murali Krishna here on Friday.
Addressing the news persons, Murali Krishna mentioned that this case involved sever complications as the tumor spread to other vital organs in the stomach. After repeated biopsy tests, the tumor was detected and by then, it had engulfed the intestines. The patient could not undergo Chemotherapy until the tumor had been removed.
A team of doctors spent five hours to remove the tumor and the patient is discharged after six days of observation at the hospital. Now, she can undergo Chemotherapy for cancer, he said. Anesthesiologist Dr P Visweswara Rao was present.
