​Vijayawada: The aspirants for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains have appeared for the competitive examination for the first time in the city. Candidates took the test at as many as 37 centres in the city on Sunday. The test was incident-free. Accordingly, the police have made special arrangements to ensure that there is smooth conduct of the examination owing to the severe rush of candidates at the last hour. Stringent security measures were undertaken.

Students taking the exam were denied to carry any kind of electronic gadgets and wrist watches with them. Wall clocks have been set up at halls for the convenience of the students. It has been advised that they do not wear shoe, to save time at frisking point. However, the motorists traveling by Suryaraopet, Machavaram, Ring road, towards Bhavanipuram had to put up with the traffic woes at the peak time of the day.
