The utsav will showcase the beauty and culture of this area and will enthral thousands of people from different parts of the region and other districts.” Chinarajappa reviewed the arrangements being made for Konaseema Utsav with the officials and people’s representatives in Muramalla on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Ugadi would be also celebrated at the same venue on April 8.

He said that the State government is conducting Kakinada beach festival, Maredumilli Manyam Jatara and Konaseema Utsav. He said that the State government is keen to promote temple tourism in picturesque Konaseema region. He said that Kakinada-Hope Island-Konaseema project was taken up at a cost of Rs 150 crore and Akhanda Godavari project was taken up at a cost of Rs 100 crore for development of temple tourism in the region.

He said that he would take measures to develop tourism in Odalarevu, Muramalla, S Yanam and Antarvedi. He said plans are afoot to develop Mada forest as a tourist destination. “The beauty of the picturesque Konaseema will be showcased through rowing competitions. The cultural events would be a highlight,” he added.
