The Dwaraka police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old engineering graduate for cheating an unemployed woman and decamping with her laptop and  Rs 1,000 cash. The police said that Chegondi Chandrasekhar of  East Godavari district after completion  of  his B Tech joined a service in Hyderabad and lost employment after three years for leading a lavish life neglecting the work.

Visakhapatnam: The Dwaraka police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old engineering graduate for cheating an unemployed woman and decamping with her laptop and Rs 1,000 cash. The police said that Chegondi Chandrasekhar of East Godavari district after completion of his B Tech joined a service in Hyderabad and lost employment after three years for leading a lavish life neglecting the work.

As he could not find suitable employment, he thought of cheating unemployed by offering jobs. He floated a software company and invited applications for employment. After receiving the applications, he contacted six women and told them that they were selected for jobs. He also called Kotyada Latha and asked her to come to Visakhapatnam and collect her offer letter.

After she arrived, he took her to an internet centre and asked her to prepare another resume. Meanwhile, he asked her laptop and ATM card for booking railway ticket. Later, he withdrew Rs 1,000 and retuned her ATM card. While she was typing the resume, Chandrasekhar disappeared with her laptop.

Later, she went to Dwaraka police station and lodged a complaint. The police launched a search and arrested him at Dwarakanagar and recovered the laptop and seized resumes and six mobile phones.
