Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas participated as chief guest for the function. Local MP Kesineni Srinivas Nani, and Michael C Mullins, US Consul General, Hyderabad, Former Rajaya Sabha member and Hindi Prof Yaralagadda Lakshmi Prasad, and many other eminent scholars participated as guest of honors for the celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas lauded the efforts of IACC for organising Ugadi celebrations in Vijayawada. He informed that measures will be taken by government in improving health care in the State. He requested the trade and industry officials to support the government to provide better cleanliness in Government Hospitals with participation in CSR activities.

Local MP Kesineni Srinivas Nani informed that developing of Andhra Pradesh with world class facilities will need adequate investments. He requested IACC to facilitate investments in the State for its holistic development.

Michael Mullins, US Consul General informed IACC will extend necessary support for the development of bifurcated Andhra Pradesh under Indo-US bilateral trade, which has vast scope for the development with available resources.

Later, the members of IACC and AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry felicitated Dr Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad on the occasion. Speaking after receiving the felicitation, Lakshmi Prasad emphasized the need to give importance for usage of Telugu in public life and in government working. Mother Tongue plays an important role and one should protect the language and pass on to generations to come.

APCCI president Muthavarapu Murali Krishna, IACC AP & TS, chairman M Ramakrishna, N Srinivasan, regional president, South India IACC and S Purnachandra Rao, National Executive Council, IACC were present on the occasion.
