Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy temple atop the Indrakeeladri is geared up to organise the annual ritual of the Vasanta Navaratrotsavam from April 8 to 16 and the Chaitra Masa Kalyana Brahmotsavams from April 17 to 25, according to temple in-charge executive officer Chandrasekhar Azad.

Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy temple atop the Indrakeeladri is geared up to organise the annual ritual of the Vasanta Navaratrotsavam from April 8 to 16 and the Chaitra Masa Kalyana Brahmotsavams from April 17 to 25, according to temple in-charge executive officer Chandrasekhar Azad.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Azad said that celebrations would begin on Ugadi, the Telugu New Year with snapanabhishekam at 3am on Saturday and a noted scholar would hold ‘Panchanga Sravanam’ at the Bhavani Mandapam at 10 am.

Rathothsavam would be conducted by the temple officials through Brahmin Street at 5.30 pm to mark the Vasanta Navaratrotsavam and would go through One Town, Kaleswara Rao Market, Ganesh Temple and finally reach the Indrakeeladri hill, he said.

The EO said that the management has planned to perform special pushparchana to the Goddess Kanakadurga at Ashirvachana Mandapam right from 9 am onwards from April 8 to 16.

Priests would only use variety of flowers like Malle (Jasmine), Paccha and Tella Chamanthi (yellow and white chrysanthemum), Gulabi (rose), Kanakambaram, Maruvam, Tamara (water lily), Tulasi ‘jilledu ' (crown flowers), Bilva (bael leaves) and Mandaram (China rose) in pushparchana.

Devotees can also take part by paying Rs 1,116 from 9 am to 11 am. They would be presented a sesha vastra, blouse piece, five laddus and five pulihora packets.

The temple would perform 9-day-long annual ritual Chaitra Masa Kalyana Brahmotsavams at the temple premises which would begin with mangala snanam on April 17 and conclude with Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla leela kalyanam on April 25 at 10:30 p.m. Santhi kalyanam, darbar seva, uyyala seva, pallaki seva, Sri Chakra, Chandi homam, laksha kumkum archana would also be performed.
