The chief of the function Satyanandam envisaged the past glory of Telugu theatre and also gave light upon the present conditions too. The other speakers artists PVN Krishna, film director C Umamaheswara Rao also touched upon the present state of Telugu Theatre.

Prahlada Panduranga Rao, former Station Director, All India Radio, Markapur, who has been conducting World Theatre Day celebrations for the last two decades said that the meetings will never change the present conditions of theatre unless the mindset of the artists and the Government changes.

Dr P Radhika read out the message of Russian director Anatoli Vassiliev and director and playwright Ping Chongreleased by the International Theatre Institute On this occasion, the stage artists Pilla Nataraj and Bayana Srinivasa Rao were felicitated by the organisers. Y Basaveswara Rao was present on the dais and Madugula Rama Krishna conducted the meeting.
