The YSR Congress party is all set to stage dharnas at the district Collectorates and mandal revenue offices to protest against the TDP government’s indifferent attitude in addressing the concerns of the drought-affected villages in the state.

The party would highlight the government's inability to take up drought relief measures and secure funds under the rural employment guarantee scheme. YSRCP MLC Ummareddy Venkateswarlu pointed out that AP could secure Rs. 443 crore from the Centre while other states garnered more funds. Citing the reference of Maharashtra of getting Rs. 3,050 crore and Telangana getting Rs. 600 crore in excess as relief, the YSRCP leader said that it is clear that TDP government is not in a position to seek funds from the Centre.

He added that the details regarding the Dharnas would be finalized shortly and that YSRC president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would be participating in the protests.
