Spiritual fervour marks celestial wedding at Vontimitta

Grandeur and religious fervour marked the celestial wedding of Kodanda Rama and his divine consort Sita in Vontimitta temple as part of ongoing Bramhostavams on Wednesday. Thousands of devotees witnessed the celestial wedding amidst chanting of Rama Rama.

​Vontimitta (Kadapa): Grandeur and religious fervour marked the celestial wedding of Kodanda Rama and his divine consort Sita in Vontimitta temple as part of ongoing Bramhostavams on Wednesday. Thousands of devotees witnessed the celestial wedding amidst chanting of ‘Rama Rama’.

The TTD priests along with temple Ritwiks performed Snapana Tirumanjanam to the processional deities after performing customary rituals to the presiding deity including Suprabatham, Thomala and Ekantha seva earlier in the day. The Veda Pundits performed special Yagam on the occasion wherein thousands of devotees participated.

Later, in the evening, holy threads (Kankanams) were distributed to the devotees who sat on the carpets spreading under the cool pandals in the sprawling 70 acres site which was colourfully decked up. The purohits performed the wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita as per the Sastras which was a visual-feast to the devotees.

The Muthayala Thalambralu were distributed to as many as seven lakh packets before the Sri Rama Kalyanam. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao and other prominent persons participated in the celestial wedding and offered prayers to the deities.
