  • Several resolutions passed including giving jobs to local youth in private industries and filling up 6,700 vacant posts in TTD

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, DYFI State president P Madhav and secretary M Suryarao said that the DYFI had resolved to launch a statewide stir to exert pressure on the government for filling up the 1.42 lakh vacant posts in various departments in the State, for giving priority to local youth in the appointments in private industries and to fill up the 6,700 vacant posts in TTD.

The DYFI will mobilise the unemployed youth for an intense struggle against the government for issuing notification immediately to fill the 20,000 vacant posts for which the State cabinet had approved in its recent meeting. Madhav said that private industries are refusing to provide jobs, citing lack of skill, to local youth including from those families, who gave their lands for setting up industries in various special economic zones in the State in the appointments.

The DYFI leaders criticised the government for delaying the recruitment in TTD and demanded that the government should take steps for filling up posts in TTD which they said in no way a burden to it. This apart, they said the DYFI had resolved to take up the issues including drinking water scarcity in the State. DYFI vice-president S Jayachandra and others were present.
