The YSRCP leaders on Saturday organized a Save Democracy candlelight rally in all districts as a protest against the TDP government for encouraging defections from the party.

YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is purchasing YSRCP MLAs with corrupt money in Visakhapatnam while YSRCP MLA Roja who participated in candlelight rally in Puttur stated that the TDP government is making mockery of democracy and the YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy questioned Chandrababu's confidence on his government, further challenging him to go for elections with the defected leaders.

However, the candlelight rally didn't go down well with the TDP leaders who slammed the rally. TDP leader from Nellore, Anam Vivekananda Reddy took a satirical approach in criticizing the Save Democracy candlelight rally. Stating that YSRCP will be melting away like a candle, Anam Vivekananda Reddy said that YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would be dipping the party in water and added that YSRCP will soon vanish from the politics.
