Vijayawada: Sri Kanaka Durga vari Prachara Ratha Yatra will tour the Dalit wards under coastal villages in the Krishna district from April 27 to May 6, according to Temple in-charge Executive Officer Chandrasekhar Azad.

In a press release here on Tuesday, Azad said that Rath Yatra is being organised by the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, Indrakeeladri, in association with Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad as part of the spiritual mission to propagate the glory of Goddess Kanaka Durga among the people residing in the Dalit wards.

A host of special pujas and rituals including Kumkuma Archana will be performed at the places between 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, where the ratham haults, he said. The in-charge EO said that as part of the tour, Prachara Ratham will cover the Dalit wards under Palle Tummala Palem, Avanigadda, Koduru, Pallakai Thippa, Hamsladeevi, Satyanarayanapuram, Nagayyalanka, Linga Reddy Palem, Sangameswaram and other villages. Prasadam would be distributed to the devotees after the rituals, he added.
