Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena has been registered as a political party in the Telugu States after the Election Commission's Andhra Pradesh unit granted recognition to the party on Monday. While Jana Sena was already recognized as a political party in Telangana, Jana Sena party founder Pawan Kalyan had applied for party's registration to state election commission on December 10 in 2014 following which the people's intervention was sought by the EC in this regard.

Even though the people from East Godavari and Krishna district raised objections, they were ruled out with the Election Commission stating that the reasons are not legally feasible.

The recognition papers of the Election Commission were handed to the Janasena leader, Pawan Kalyan and also have been sent to the district collectors along with other returning officers in this regard. However, the party symbol is yet to be finalized and the EC gave its assurance that Jana Sena would get priority over independents in the allotment of the party symbol.
