YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy along with party MLAs and MPs including senior leaders Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana, YV Subba Reddy, Dharmana Prasada Rao, met CPI leader Sitaram Yechury on Tuesday at the CPM headquarters in Delhi and raised the issue of defections taking place in Andhra Pradesh.

Post the meeting, Sitaram Yechuri addressed the media and said that the CPM would completely back the YSRCP's battle against unethical political practices of the TDP Government in AP. Expressing shock over the way the defections are being carried out on such a large scale which he had not witnessed earlier, the CPI leader mentioned about the anti-defection law and questioned its authentication.

Stating that his party would raise the issue of political defections in Parliament, Sitaram Yechuri opined that there is a need to bring amendments to the anti-defection laws as it was a threat to democracy. He assured that CPM would fight the TDP corruption without any compromise.
