New Delhi: YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, here on Tuesday sought a probe into the alleged corruption of AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. During his meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Jagan highlighted the myriad ways of corruption in AP and accused Naidu of amassing Rs 1.34 lakh crore in a short span of two years.

Launching his 'Save Democracy in AP' campaign here, he handed over copies of a book titled 'Chandrababu Naidu - Emperor of Corruption’ which lists out various scams that had reportedly taken place in AP.

"Corruption and horse trading are the twin themes of the TDP rule and if unchecked, the rot would eat into the vitals of democracy", Jagan told the leaders of not only NCP, CPI-M and JD (U) along with the Union Home Minister.

Democracy was facing a double jeopardy in the state as the Chief Minister was not only the master-mind behind every scam, but he was also using the money thus accumulated to buy Opposition MLAs.

Jagan pleaded for a thorough probe into the 34 scams listed in the "corruption chronicles of Naidu" in the past two years. Naidu had amassed Rs 1.34 lakh crore so far and the Amaravati land scam itself amounted to Rs 1 lakh crore out of the same, he said to point out that the CM was using the money to buy his party MLAs spending Rs 20 to Rs 30 crore on each of them.

While Jagan sought their cooperation in bringing amendments to the anti-defection law to prevent horse trading, Yechury reportedly promised him that his party would initiate the amendments. Assuring Jagan that his party would always support parties which work for people's cause, he is said to have termed the defections a large scale political corruption.

Later, he met Sharad Yadav too to highlight the same and sought his support to his fight against Naidu's wrongdoings. Speaking to the media in between, Jagan accused Naidu of engineering defections in AP while attempting the same in Telangana too in the past. Such 'political debauchery' must come to an end wherever it was happening, be it in AP or Telangana, he said.

Accusing Naidu of flouting all his election promises, he said every section in the state was frustrated with him for the backstabbing. "I am not worried about 13 MLAs switching loyalties or a couple of more being ready to do so. After all, people could take care of them in the elections any time.

Naidu should remember that the difference between his win and YSRCP's loss was only 1.6 per cent of the total polled votes", he added.

He said the book had "proofs" of Naidu's corruption and challenged the latter to go for an inquiry into the same instead of managing the systems to remain outside the purview of judicial probe.
