TTD to build Lord’s temple in Hyderabad
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) resolved to construct Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad city. The resolution was passed at the TTD trust board meeting held here on Tuesday. The temple will be constructed at a cost of Rs 18 crore.

Briefing newsmen on the resolutions adopted at the meeting, TTD chairman Ch Krishnamurthy said that the other construction works which the TTD will take up at various places include construction of Kalyana Mandapam and pilgrim amenities complex in Vontimitta,
Kadapa district, for the benefit of the pilgrims visiting the historic shrine of Sri Kodananda Ramaswamy temple (total cost Rs 4.60 crore), construction of Kalyana Mandapams in Chintalur and Lepakshi of Anantapur district (Rs 1.25 crore each), construction of new operation theatres and other developmental works in BIRRD hospital,
Tirupati (Rs 7.08 crore) and Rs 4.80 cr for construction of wards, bio-medical laboratories etc and Annaprasadam complex in Tholapa Garden locality in Tiruchanur (Rs 6.7 crore). Construction of new building for Parakamani (hundi offerings counting centre) will be taken up at Tirupati,
construction of Pushkarin in Guddam Ranganatha Swamy in Hindupur (Rs 55 lakh) and Rs 35 lakh sanctioned for completion of pending works of the Kalyana Mandapam attached to Sri Swayambhu Thimmappa Swamy temple in Mahaboobnagar district, Telangana State.
The TTD Trust Board also gave its nod for preparation of a pair of Golden Shatagopams for Tirumala temple at a total cost Rs 72 lakh. The TTD chairman invited donation of golden Shatari from devotees.
TTD Executive Officer D Sambasiva Rao who was present at the press briefing said that the TTD has to get the pair of new Shatari once in six months to replace the old ones which were worn out.
Unlike in other temples Viashanvites shrines, in Tirumalatemple where on an average more than 50000 devotees have darshan daily involving heavy utilization of shatari which priest will place on the head of devotees after offering theertham after darshan as mark of God’s blessing, he explained.
And said TTD desires to keep a stock of atleast 10 Shataris in reserve. TTD trust board member C Ramachandra Reddy came forward to contribute his part towards the making of one Shatagopam, said the Chairman and added that trust board also approved preparation of new Muthyapupandari Vahanam and Sarvabhupala Vahanam for which Rs 3.86 crore was sanctioned.
Krishnamurthy informed that the TTD netted an income of Rs 4.57 crore in February and Rs 23.19 crore in March through sale of human hair. Trust board also decided to organise Srinivasa Kalyanam at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, Nairobi, Kenya, on May 22.
Another important decision was sanction of Rs 25 crore towards TTD’s contribution to State Archaka and other temple employees Welfare Trust (Endowment department).
