With continuous defections taking place in the YSR Congress party, the number of members in the party is reducing drastically. Meanwhile, YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is meeting national leaders to prevent the defection of MLAs from his party. However, another MLA from the YSRCP party has decided to switch loyalties and join the Telugu Desam Party.

The latest MLA to quit YSRCP and join the ruling TDP is Srisailam MLA Buddha Rajashekar Reddy who defected to the ruling party before the scheduled time, citing an auspicious time in the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at his guest house in Undavalli on Thursday. Following Rajasekhar Reddy, his followers are scheduled to be admitted to the TDP at Tadepalli in Guntur district today.

With Rajasekhar Reddy's defection, the number of YSRCP MLAs joining into TDP has become 15. Reports suggest that Araku YSRCP MLA K Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Gandi Babji are also set to join TDP shortly.
