He reviewed the purchase of paddy through procurement centres with officials concerned and organisers of paddy purchasing centres here on Friday.

Some of them present at the meeting brought to the notice of the JC that 1010 and Bond all varieties were being rejected by the merchants. “Purchases should be conducted as per regulations,” the JC affirmed. He said that 1.43 lakh metric tonne of rice is being procured through 258 centers.

He came down heavily on the organisers of the centers where the purchasing was not up to the expectations. On sand mining, he made it clear that a permit from the Mining department was mandatory for taking up any mining activity. Stringent action would be taken if anyone resorts to sand mining without proper permissions, he warned DRDA PD Mallibabu, DSO Umamaheswara Rao, Amalapuram RDO G GaneshKumar were also present.
