State-level labour department competitions begin

The State level Sports and Cultural competitions of the Labour Department kick started at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium (IGMC) here on Friday. The two day finals will follow with a prize distribution ceremony that is scheduled to be held on the occasion of May Day, on May 1.

Assistant Labor Commissioner D Anjaneya Reddy formally began the finals between workers of various departments, who played well through the semi final rounds at their respective regions.

Workers who proved their mettle in the regional level from wings like Automobile, Transportation and others took part in the two day tournament. Games like Volley Ball, Kabaddi and Athletics were conducted. Singing and folk dance, other cultural competitions were also held.
