In a bid to encourage young minds into science and temper, Gora Science Center in the city had come up with a two day workshop on magic and ticks that concluded today.

Speaking during the occasion, former national president of Indian Medical Association Dr G Samaram said that it is very important to inculcate science temper and knowledge in children of this age. “In a world which is technically, scientifically progressing, myths like black magic and superstitions are pulling people back. Everybody should know the reason behind every logic and belief’,” he said.

Magicians Gowtham and P Bhimmanna, who are educating a wide section of people on superstitions, trained about 200 children in the workshop.
They said that people are falling prey to fake Swamijis and Babas who bring out articles like idols, Vibudhi and other materials from air and from body organs which is purely scientific and can be done by anyone upon practice.

Various magic tricks were performed using ropes, hand kerchiefs and paper sheets. Piercing a needle into the tongue, burning camphor on hands and on tongue were a few tricks they demonstrated. Atheist center Executive Director Dr Vijayam, magicians VV Ramana from Guntur, Vijaya Kumar from Visakhapatnam were present during the workshop.
