Brindavanam, a Kuchipudi dance ballet based on the Krithis of Vaggeyakaras Jayadeva, Kshetrayya and Narayana Teertha, was staged at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College in the city on Sunday.

Vedantam Parthasarathy choreographed the ballet which was organised by the Department of Culture and Language as a weekend programme for dance connoisseurs.

The ballet on Sri Krishna Leelalu comprising `Saranam Bhava’, `Neela Megha Sareera’, `Govardhan Giridhari’, `Gopika Krishna’ and `Ashtapadis’, was well presented by young Kuchipudi dancers with fine expressions. P Santhi and Vedantam Durgabhavani lent vocal support to the delightful ballet.

Instrumental music support was given by P Satyanarayana on the mridangam, Stephen Raju on the tabla, Panyam Dakshinamurthy on the violin and Kumar on the flute. Surabhi Ganesh’s makeup made the Kuchipudi dancers look bright.
