While Digvijay Singh has already affirmed his stance on the issue by coming out in support for the demand, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, who drafted the AP Reorganisation Bill too assured that the party would continue to fight for the Special Status category for the state.
Jairam Ramesh faulted the BJP government for neglecting the implementation of the special status and said that BJP was cheating the people of AP by continuously adopting the same stance for the past 2 years. He even criticized the TDP for failing to protect the interests of the people in the state further questioning its alliance with the BJP.
